Since there seems to be a never ending increase in reality TV shows I thought it would be fun to do a little research on their logos. So, which one do you guys want to vote off?

Yeah, this is sad. This just shows the disparity between the broadcast world and the print world. Is it the folks calling the shots? Or is it the folks generating those that shots need to be called for? But the other reality is, I feel, is that more and more we are moving towards screen based designs with the amount of time spent looking at computers so the gap needs to lessen. I guess, reality tv has never been something that has asked for much more though.. I wonder what people outside of the states think of us?

I actually had a hand in one of these! The corresponding opening sequence is actually not horrible- a homage to some famous 60′s design. I was a creative director at a shop that designs opening sequences for tv shows, among other things, and very occasionally, something of the reality show genre. What can i say? Not exactly the most thoughtful or daring clients, for one. I think that most people working on these types of programs know that design-wise, it’s best not to take anything very seriously, and stay well within what is expected and ‘appropriate’ for the genre: ie something that is average quality genericism. The only reason anyone is producing these shows is to make money while the money’s good.
