Esquire UK

esquireuk

Just came across some covers of Esquire’s UK editions (I’ve never seen the UK versions). I must say…there’s some pretty sexy type treatments going on. Anyone know what typeface the article titles are set in?

I also like how they kept the esquire character in the spine. It’s a nice nod to their origins.

woo…and it looks like they went hardback for their September issue. Even the barcode is nicely designed.

It’s interesting that the magazine tagline is different in different countries. The UK tagline is “Esquire: For men who mean business” and the US tagline is “Esquire: Man at his best”. Here’s a UK cover on the left and a US cover on the right. Both have interesting design qualities. What’s your vote?

Good find. Real good. I’m a 12 month subscripted man. Not sure about the typefaces, but the design is awesome and well calculated. I would take a stab at a variation of Gotham as one. Design aside (for once), Esquire is an awesome man’s mag. You knowz it!

It was a vast improvement when Esquire UK was redesigned last year (it even made me subscribe to it!) but what still let’s it down is it’s unimaginative content. Though I have to say it does look ten times better than it’s US counterpart.
