hug_project 03 – Adaptation: A Response to ___________.

Voting is now closed. Thanks for all who participated, both designers and readers! Results will be announced later today! Project 3 is part one of a two part project Graphic Hug has set out to do in preparation for the launch of our upcoming store and the release of our first ever publication. We gave all huggers a broad theme of which they could construct an interpretation to in the form of a poster.

Please review the following posters and email us your favorite or comment below on your favorite. The winning poster will be printed and sold as one of our first products to be released in the store! The poster will be 24″ by 36″ and the voting deadline is March 8. We look forward to your thoughts!

Here is the brief:
Adaptation: A Response to ___________.
Entering 2009 the word change has tremendous weight on many levels. We find ourselves at a turning point with a new president (at least here in the states) bringing a new saddle, a new horse and, hopefully, fewer guns to play with. We are faced with an economy looming, as opposed to pushing us forward, and a sense of urgency in regards to the environment. Unlike years past the need, desire, and momentum of change is greater than ever. These palpable changes we find as an appropriate theme for our very first publication. As designers, how do we adapt and respond? How do we communicate it? Are we instigators for change?

Please vote on the posters below and let us know what you would like to be printed!

Miss design history casts her ballot for #2 (and no, I’m not voting for myself!)… p.s. way to make this a difficult choice everyone, I’ve been stressing over it all morning. Can we have runner ups?

#2. LOVE #2. The history of human civilization in just a few symbols. Like how it ends in that slim, hard “I”.

    Hard decision though…wish I could read #4′s text…really liking #19 and #21 as well….
