I was flipping through an old issue of High Fructose and came across what I thought to be a collection of manipulated photos. To my amazement they were the paintings of dutch artist Chris Berens. This “gaussian blur-like” effect seen in most of his works has evolved due to his tedious process. Beren’s works with inks on high gloss ink jet paper covered in a plastic coating, he then peels off the plastic, layers 10-15 of them onto top of each other, and then glues them onto wood panel. Inspirational work. Check it.

Seriously love this work. There is something so atmospheric about it. Its funny, i often use the word atmosphere when i see blurred things. Is that a common perception?…. nice2.
